Answer:

The components of the land based carbon cycle are rocks, sediments ,oceans ,soil ,freshwaters, terrestrial biosphere and the atmosphere

The components of the water based carbon cycle are oceanic water depth, oceanic sediments, oceanic surface waters and atmosphere

Explanation:

Carbon is an essential element of earth and existence of life is possible by the combining capacity of carbon with other elements such Oxygen, phosphorus, hydrogen, nitrogen etc.It combines with hydrogen to form organic matter that is essential for cellular metabolism.Abundant carbon is found in the following components such as the Ocean, vegetation of land, soils, freshwaters,,shallow oceanic sediments and the atmosphere. The accumulation of carbon in the atmosphere leads to Climate warming

The ocean plays a significant role in the global carbon cycle On the whole the ocean is termed as carbon sink because it absorbs more carbon from the atmosphere. CO2 from the atmosphere dissolves in the water surface of the ocean .Some amount of CO2 are in the form of  dissolved gas.The phytoplanktons turns the carbon into organic matter through the process of photosynthesis in the presence of sunlight which touches the water surface. Some of the organisms use carbon t in the form of calcium carbonate to make Shells and skeletons
