One minute later at 8:01pm. One lighthouse will flash 3 times (at 20, 40 and 60 seconds)...the other will flash twice (at 30 and 60 seconds). So they will both flash 60 seconds later, at 8:01

A park charges $12 for 1 round of mini golf and a reduced fee for each additional round played. If Tom paid $47 for 6 rounds of
faltersainse [42]
Set it up as an equation: 12 + 6x = 47
(x is the reduced fee)

12 + 6x = 47
12 - 12 + 6x = 47 - 12
6x = 35
x = 35/6
x = 5.83 repeating (only the 3 is repeating)

Write the five term sequence that would represent each recursive rule f(x) = f(x-1) -7; f(2) = 12
barxatty [35]

Answer:

Required five terms of sequence are 19 , 12 , 5 , -2 and -9 .

Solution:

Need to find the five terms of the sequence.

Given recursive rule is f(x) = f(x-1) -7

Substituting x = 2 , f(2) = f(2-1)-7

= f(2) = f(1) – 7    ------(1)

Also given that f(2) = 12.

On substituting the given value of f(2) in eq (1) we get

12 = f(1) – 7

f(1) = 12 + 7 = 19

Using given recursive rule and given value of f(2) calculating f(3)

Substituting x = 3 ,

f(3) = f(3-1) – 7

= f(2) – 7

= 12 – 7

= 5

Using given recursive rule and calculated value of f(3) calculating f(4)

Substituting x = 4,

f(4) = f(4-1) – 7

= f(3) – 7

= 5– 7

= -2

Using given recursive rule and calculated value of f(4) calculating f(5)

Substituting x = 5,

f(5) = f(5-1) – 7

= f(4) – 7

= -2– 7

= -9

Hence required five terms of sequence are 19 , 12 , 5 , -2 and -9 .

The length of a rectangle is 4x + 7and the width is 3x - 1. What is the perimeter of the rectangle?
bekas [8.4K]

Answer:

Perimeter is 14x+12

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of a rectangle is P=2L+2W, therefore the perimeter is P=2(4x+7)+2(3x-1)=8x+14+6x-2=14x+12
