Answer:

To search for sources in the library's catalog search page, you should begin with a/an _______ search.

B. author

Explanation:

The search should be concentrated on Louis Pasteur, who is the author of the germ theory of diseases.  Therefore, the search for sources of information should be concentrated on the author.  As the search goes on more information will surely be discovered about Louis Pasteur, his discoveries about germs, and more importantly, his conclusions on the germ theory of diseases.

What did Miss Spink give Coraline?
kaheart [24]

Answer:

Miss Spink gave her "a stone with a hole [that] went all the way through the middle of [it]. This stone helped her see through all things that were hidden by the "Other Mother".

Explanation:

Neil Gaiman's novella "Coraline" evolves around the story of Coraline and the parallel universe she discovered in her new home. And in that parallel universe, she has to fight an evil "Other Mother", the parallel character of her mother in the other universe, if she wants to keep her family safe.

Miss Spink was another tenant in the same building as Coraline and her family. When reading the tea leaves from Coraline's teacup, Miss Spink and Miss Forcible revealed that she is in danger. Miss Spink then gave her a <em>"stone with a hole [that] went all the way through the middle of the stone"</em>. The stone that Miss Spink gave her was to help keep her safe from danger. And this stone helped her see through things, unmasking everything hidden by the "Other Mother".

Some say life's a Monopoly game,    spread like a picnic to kill the grass,    assuring no winners save some ants,    until amid
svet-max [94.6K]
The metaphor for life in this poem is a game of Monopoly with no winner. The poem describes a situation in which, through the process of trying to beat out the other competitors in the game, no player ultimately wins (see the "Crabs in a Bucket" metaphor for a similar idea).
