AUTHOR'S STYLE RHETORICAL DEVICES A. DIRECTIONS: Identify four rhetorical devices in this excerpt from a persuasive speech. Expl
Marianna [84]

Answer:

A

1. Parallelism

2. Anaphora

3. Alliteration

4. Epiphora

B

1. To get ahead, a person needs to have good goals, study hard and plan well for the future.

2. The professor needs to either publish more books or work with his students.

3. She is having good days, bad days, long days and short days.

4. Hike the Appalachian Trail is exploring the Panama Canal and the Mississippi ford.

Explanation:

I have been able to show the four rhetorical devices used in the given passage.

Parallelism is the use of a particular grammatical structure in a sentence. We see it in the line: "We all should have our say in the political leaders we elect: the young student and the old retiree; the struggling worker and the wealthy businessman."

Anaphora is the rhetorical device that repeats a word or phrase in a sentence at the beginning of successive classes.

It is seen in the line: "It is a privilege, it is a right, it is a duty."

Alliteration is the rhetorical device that repeats the same letter or sound at the beginning of words that adjacent or closely connected.

It is seen in the line: "You must vote! If you love your country, you must vote. If you believe that your country can be better, you must vote."

Epiphora is the rhetorical device that repeats a word or phrase at the end of successive clauses.

It is seen in the line: "You must vote! If you love your country, you must vote. If you believe that your country can be better, you must vote."

Which of the following could be used to label the external rhyme scheme of stanza 1?
balu736 [363]

You must look at the pattern of rhymes. For example

Monday's child is fair of face, A

Tuesday's child is full of grace,A

Wednesday's child is full of woe,B

Thursday's child has far to go,B

Friday's child is loving and giving,C

Saturday's child works hard for his living. C

And the child that is born on the Sabbath day D

Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay. D

so it is AABBCCDD

So just look for that! But, if you gave us the poem we could help!
