A big problem that the colonists faced during this time was being forced to house British troops.

The colonists did not want to house British troops, as they felt like it was just a total invasion of their privacy. They did not have a choice though and were forced to house them and feed them.

When making the United States Constitution, they were sure to address this issue and dedicated a whole amendment to it. The Third Amendment states that without the consent of the owner, troops can not board themselves.
