Rather than love, what Romeo and Juliet felt for each other was infatuation. They were each other's first experience with this intense feeling, so much so that they felt they needed to end their lives due to the other's death. Love at first sight is a feeling of excitement, a rush. But it's not true love. The difference between the two is that though they have the same level of intensity, infatuation happens quickly and ends quickly compared to true love which develops slower but lasts longer.
