Ukraine, 1986, the worst nuclear accident in history happened in Chernobyl. A nuclear power plant exploded after the manager didn't do use proper safety precautions on a test. The fire from the explosion wouldn't stop, and the first responding firefighters died of acute radiation poisoning. The town was evacuated, as it is today.
