maksim [4K]
The correct answer here is the third option.

Satire is the style of writing employed by writers when they criticize the society in any form or humans in general. In the genre of satire all the follies, vices, shortcomings and abuses of the society or the individual are ridiculed, mocked but the main thing about the satire, even though it is funny and humorous, its main purpose is the betterment of the society and constructive social criticism.

Analyze the statement “the holocaust was complete.” If the “holocaust” was complete when George Wilson dies, what do you think F
nika2105 [10]
Nick uses the term "holocaust" because it was a spree of death to the people around him and even love. Daisy killed Myrtle, in return Tom told on Gatsby and Wilson killed Gatsby then himself. It was like a chain reaction. It was termed holocaust by Nick because to him I believe he thinks that the wrong people died, he knows the truth that Gatsby is innocent and he knows that the Myrtle thing was cause because of Tom having driven the yellow car earlier in the evening. It wasn't meant to happen that way but like the holocaust even the innocent die, for no good reason. I'm sure if we had our choice the only person that would have died would have been Tom, but yet he doesn't seem as such a horrible person to me anymore. I had mentioned how I see that love has died as well, the innocent love Gatsby has for Daisy now gone and left to her memory, the thoughtless love Tom had for Myrtle now gone as well, and the love Nick had for Jordan will never bee said. All innocent things that lead to the destruction of innocent people.

His movements are slow through town in the three hours and figures out who Gatsby is a where he lives. The holocaust is referring to the death of the main characters relationships, Gatsby and Daisy and Tomand Myrtle, and George and Myrtle

Read these sentences from "Gumption."
matrenka [14]

Answer:

The effect of Clara's orders to Sylvester and Jack in the excerpt is D: The men are tired of hearing Clara's complaints but remain by the fire to stay warm.

Explanation:

“Gumption” by “Langston Hughes” is a story about Sylvester and Clara who had insecurity and disbelief. “Gumption” means ability to decide what is the best action to be taken in a given situation.

Clara feels that Sylvester should try to follow Oyster and work towards equality. But Sylvester thinks that he couldn’t protest as he was already very poor and would be risking his home in case he protests. According to him Oyster’s actions are excessive. He thinks “one cannot live on gumption” i.e: being full of courage and guts all the time with common sense.

Here, by this excerpt, both are tired after hearing her complaints about their actions which wants them to leave that place. But they couldn't because it was so cold outside and they need to stay warm to survive.
