If Shakespeare lived in the United States today, would he be able to achieve the same stature
Simora [160]

He would not be able to achieve the stature due to the vast changes in generations over the years. Technology has developed on a major basis since the time of Shakespeare and thus he will find it hard to obtain a stable stature in the current period.

Explanation:

  • Books have been transformed into e-books and e-tutorials which basically eliminates the use of paper and stationery.
  • People these days don't give importance to feelings and those associated with it, hence there is no sense of love within.
  • His literature is regarded as one of the best works in the field of English and people always look up his works but there are hardly few who are interested in poems and literature these days.
  • Although known as "English national poet" with 39 plays and 154 sonnets his contributions to the language are being forgotten.

with the above factors, it can be concluded that Shakespeare will not be able to achieve the same stature as he did centuries back.

1. What are the general characteristics of a solid?
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

Explanation:

Solids are divided into two main categories, crystalline solids and amorphous solids, based on how the particles are arranged.

Crystalline solids, or crystals, are regarded as "true solids." Minerals are crystalline solids. Common table salt is one example of this kind of solid. In crystalline solids, the atoms, ions or molecules are arranged in an ordered and symmetrical pattern that is repeated over the entire crystal.

Crystalline solids also exhibit anisotropy. This means that properties such as refractive index (how much light bends when passing through the substance), conductivity (how well it conducts electricity) and tensile strength (the force required to break it apart) will vary depending on the direction from which a force is applied. Crystalline solids also exhibit cleavage; when broken apart, the pieces will have planed surfaces, or straight edges.

There are four types of crystalline solids: ionic solids, molecular solids, network covalent solids and metallic solids.

In amorphous solids (literally "solids without form"), the particles do not have a repeating lattice pattern. They are also called "pseudo solids." Examples of amorphous solids include glass, rubber, gels and most plastics. An amorphous solid does not have a definite melting point; instead, it melts gradually over a range of temperatures, because the bonds do not break all at once. This means an amorphous solid will melt into a soft, malleable state (think candle wax or molten glass) before turning completely into a liquid.

Amorphous solids have no characteristic symmetry, so they do not have regular planes of cleavage when cut; the edges may be curved. They are called isotropic because properties such as refractive index, conductivity and tensile strength are equal regardless of the direction in which a force is applied.

Read this excerpt from the poem: Why, now not even God would know Should I and all my men fall dead. These very winds forget the
Marta_Voda [28]

The correct answer is A. Fearfulness

Explanation:

This excerpt belongs to the poem "Columbus" by Joaquin Miller. In this, the author refers to the experience of Columbus and his men as they sailed from Europe to the Americas. In this poem the excerpt "Should I and all my men fall dead. These very winds forget their way..." show the fear, despair, and lack of hope by Columbus and his men because they were afraid all of them would simply die "Should I and all my men fall dead" and not even god will know it or would help them. In this context, the tone or general atmosphere is better described through the word fearfulness.
