a^{2} +b^{2} =c^{2}

with a and b being the 3 feet and 9 feet and c being the unknown (ramp).

So if you plug 3 and 9 into the equation, it looks like this.

3^{2} +9^{2} =c^{2}

then square them.

9+81=c^{2}

simplify.

90=c^{2}

take the square root of both sides.

\sqrt{90} = c
