Which of these excerpts from the story includes an adverbial phrase set off with a comma?
SpyIntel [72]

Answer:

While the little boy and the pet dog raced  ahead, the husband and wife found  themselves comparing the possible  effectiveness of each style against its  appearance...

Explanation:

An adverbial phrase is a phrase or group of words that modifies the verb, adverb, and adjectives in a sentence. And if an adverbial phrase begins any sentence, then it should always be followed by a comma.

Among the given sentences, the second sentence contains an adverbial phrase that is set off with a comma. The adverbial phrase is <em>"while the little boy and the pet dog raced ahead" </em>which is then followed by a comma, separating it from the independent clause of the remaining sentence.

Thus, the correct answer is the second option/ sentence.

What value does Mrs. Pringle see in a marriage between Elaine and Mr. Farnsworth?
galina1969 [7]

Answer: Pringle nearly goes mad. Part of the reason Mrs. Pringle is so frustrated has to do with the fact that her dining room table looks best with fourteen seats, as well as allows her husband to sit at the head of the table, which in her mind is the most honorable place to sit at dinner

She is irritated because the cook is easily angered. She is afraid that it will upset the guests. She is pleased because it means the cook will make better food.

Explanation:

Pringle use the dinner party as a way to improve her own social status, as well as the social status of her daughter? ... She uses the dinner party to invite guests who will impress others and be interested in marrying her daughter. She uses the dinner party to show people how much money she and her daughter have to spare.

Short poem about social media impact on teens please help out
Marat540 [252]

To help, I wrote an example of the poem prompt you gave(Images -- should read from left to right) In the example, I used irony to show contrast and contradictory from the speaker's tone and veiw at the begining of the poem compared to at the end of the poem. I tried to incorporate a story into the poem because I figured out a good way to tell a--what is a rather mediocre--story with the given prompt. I incorporated this story into the poem simply by sticking to an ABB rhyme scheme throughout the entire thing. There are of course an endless number of ways one could write a poem, for poetry is often seen as more of a creative, expressive form of writing rather than a technical one. If you have an idea and you can manage to formulate it in stanzas, there's not much that can go wrong.
