Think of a topic that you have some knowledge about. Can you form a strong argument about it? What evidence would you search for

to support your argument? How would you decide which evidence was important enough to present? What type of language would you use to convince someone else that your argument is true? Identify a topic, and then brainstorm answers to these questions in two to three paragraphs.

Answer:

know a lot about raising chickens. I could make an argument that raising chickens is a worthwhile investment of time and money.

I would present accurate facts and other types of evidence to support my claim that chicken farming provides financial and personal benefits. I would consult expert sources on the topic so that I could be sure all the evidence I presented was valid. Also, I would only present evidence that was relevant to my argument.

Here’s a key fact I could present to support my claim: “Raising your own chickens could save you $100 per year on eggs.” I could present other pieces of evidence to show that chicken farming is a worthwhile activity. For example, I could quote studies showing that kids who raise livestock learn responsibility and become better students and workers. I would use persuasive language to try to convince my readers of the benefits of chicken farming.
