On June 6, 1944 the day know as D-Day had started. 4,000 ships filled with Allies invaded France. Although going under heavy gun fire, the Allies pushed on. They would not retreat. More and more Allies continued coming onto France, eventually reaching Paris. After four years of being ruled by the Nazis, France was finally free.
