"Separate but equal" was the constitutional law doctrine according which racial segregation did not violate the "equal protection" as guaranteed in the 14th amendment. The effect for many African Americans was that in actual truth, the separate facilities were not equal. Later overturned by the Supreme Court decision of Brown v. Board of Education,

How did the union blockade in Texas affect the economy?
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Answer:

The answer is letter A, There was a shortage of many goods such as flour and cloth.

Explanation:

The "Union Blockade" occurred during the American Civil War after its proclamation by Abraham Lincoln. This was a strategy that prevented the Northern to trade with the Southern area. Many ships patrol the port areas in order to prevent the shipping of goods such as flour, cloth, weapons, sugar and the like.

As a result, the supply of goods such as "cotton" coming from the South declined. This means that most crops in Texas were of no use since there was no means of trading it or exporting it.

When it comes to international trade, the effect wasn't felt at the beginning, since Great Britain had a stock of cotton supplies they used for their textile, in the long run, it was a burden for them. Those who were working in the cotton industry became unemployed.

Woodrow Wilson's "Fourteen Points" were designed to provide a blueprint for world peace that was to be used for peace negotiatio
lina2011 [118]

The British and the French leader accepted it at first but they were more interested in getting Germany to pay for the war the to prevent another one.

Wilson created the Fourteen Points in order to bring stability to the world and prevent such a large conflict as the World War from erupting again. But he was not there to fight for it during the signing of the Treaty of Versailles as he got ill and his plan was heavily changed by Britain and France in order to make Germany pay reparations for the war.
