What is the slope of the line 8x + 6y = 30
Ludmilka [50]
Transpose the equation:

8x+6y=30
First minus 8x from each side of the equation.
6y=30-8x
Then divide each side by 6.
y=5-1.33x or if you want the answer in exact form:
y=5-4/3x
The slope is 4/3 or 1.333.

2 The value of y is directly proportional
rusak2 [61]

Answer:

y = 17.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that y is directly proportional to x then the equation relating them is

y = kx ← k is the constant of proportion

To find k use the condition y = 35 when x = 140, then

35 = 140k ( divide both sides by 140 )

0.25 = k

y = 0.25x ← equation of proportion

When x = 70, then

y = 0.25 × 70 = 17.5

6x + 7y = 1
8x – 3y = 25
Solve me fast explainly
Elenna [48]

Answer:

{x,y} = {89/37,-71/37}

Step-by-step explanation:

8x = 3y + 25

[2]    x = 3y/8 + 25/8

Plug this in for variable x in equation [1]

  [1]    6•(3y/8+25/8) + 7y = 1

  [1]    37y/4 = -71/4

  [1]    37y = -71

Solve equation [1] for the variable y

  [1]    37y = - 71

  [1]    y = - 71/37

By now we know this much :

   x = 3y/8+25/8

   y = -71/37

Use the y value to solve for x

   x = (3/8)(-71/37)+25/8 = 89/37

Brainliest Answer!!!
AleksandrR [38]
Its fairly straightforward. Since the bottom equation only has one unknown,x, because y=1.3, you can plug y in and solve for x. Once you find the value of x, you then have the value for two variables, x and y, and again have one unknown coefficient a. To solve for the coefficient you just plug in your y value (1.3) and your x value (which can be rounded to 0.42). Using a little bit of algebra, you can then solve for a which should be a=2.108. I am not sure if your teacher wants you to solve it this way but you could also use the elimination method or substitution method that you would of learned when discussing system of equations. But no matter which way you do it, the math follows the rules. Hope this helps. I’d suggest you solve it yourself to double check my work.
