Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

8(1 + 2i) -  (7 - 3i) = 8*1 + 8*2i + 7*(-1) - 3i*(-1)

                          = 8 + 16i -7 + 3i

                          = 8 - 7 + 16i + 3i

                          = 1 + 19i

Daniel forgot to multiply 2i by 8

6.
Rudik [331]

Answer:

  (a)  169.1 m

Step-by-step explanation:

The diagram shows you the distance (x) will be shorter than 170 m, but almost that length. The only reasonable answer choice is ...

  169.1 m

__

The relevant trig relation is ...

  Cos = Adjacent/Hypotenuse

The leg of the right triangle adjacent to the marked angle is x, and the hypotenuse is 170 m. Putting these values into the equation, you have ...

  cos(6°) = x/(170 m)

  x = (170 m)cos(6°) ≈ (170 m)(0.994522) ≈ 169.069 m

The horizontal distance covered is about 169.1 meters.

_____

Additional comment

Expressed as a percentage, the slope of this hill is tan(6°) ≈ 10.5%. It would be considered to be a pretty steep hill for driving.

The perimeter of the base of a regular quadrilateral prism is 60 cm, the area of a lateral face is 105 cm2. Find: the volume of
Harman [31]
Since the base is a regular quadrilateral, each of its 4 sides must have length
  s = P/4
  s = (60 cm)/4 = 15 cm

The area of one lateral face is the product of side length and height.
  A = s×h
  105 cm² = (15 cm)×h
Then the height of the prism is
  h = (105 cm²)/(15 cm) = 7 cm

The area of the base is then
  B = s²
  B = (15 cm)² = 225 cm²

The volume of the prism is the product of its base area and height.
  V = Bh
  V = (225 cm²)×(7 cm) = 1575 cm³

The volume is 1575 cm³.

Choose all the expression with accurately written descriptions
Kruka [31]

Answer:

All except 4th and last.

Step-by-step explanation:

The one that says equation is definitely wrong because it doesn't have an equal sign anywhere (there is nothing to solve there).

The one that says 5 plus x^2 that means 5+x^2 instead of 5x^2.

They should have said 5 times x^2 there which actually means 5x^2.

So I don't like the way some of these are written but the only two that are really wrong are the 4th one and the last one.
