Let me explain why the other options do not work.

B - does not work because Japanese advances were in the far east, too far away to have any significant presence in Africa, if at all.

C - does not work because POW camps weren't even in Africa, they were usually in Germany itself, Poland and perhaps Austria.

D - does not work because the middle east wasn't a significant player at the time, in fact it was hardly involved at all.

Option A is correct - Because we had the Sicily invasion shortly thereafter, and invaded Italy, unfortunately, we did face a disastrous defeat at Kasserine Pass...

Ex: If Jimmy want's a car but their government is communist, and the neighbors and others can't afford, Jimmy cannot get a car.
