Munchausen Syndrome is when a person has the need to make themselves sick, fake diseases or actually make themselves sick. This a form of mental illness that would fall under self harm. Somatization is where a person converts physiological problems to physical. An example would be when you grieve the loss of a loved one. It converts to severe fatigue.

Well a couple of reasons would be that pepper spray can't necessarily kill you. And even then, tasers and pepper spray make it harder to kill people then a gun.
