The Boll weevils effect

boll weevil did not help farmers in fact it did quite the contrary here "Boll weevils entered the U.S. from Mexico in the late 1800s, when they were first spotted in Texas. ... Cotton production moved in advance of the weevil, creating a boom in cotton plantings in areas that were weevil-free. But as the cotton spread, so did the boll weevil – costing cotton growers billions in revenue." (fwi boll weevil is a type of beetle looking bug)

Wth is a boll weevil

The boll weevil is a beetle that feeds on cotton buds and flowers. Thought to be native to Central Mexico, it migrated into the United States from Mexico in the late 19th century and had infested all U.S. cotton-growing areas by the 1920s, devastating the industry and the people working in the American South.

What role did the cities of mogadishu and mombasa play in the economic life of east africa?
marusya05 [52]
Mombasa is a city on the coast of Kenya. It is the country's second largest city next to it's capital, Nairobi. It is a regional cultural and economic hub and a tourist hub as well. It has an extra large port and an international airport too. Its strategic location had resulted to several countries trying to control Mombasa.

Mogadishu is the largest city in Somalia and the nation's capital. Just like Mombasa, it is geographically possible to trade in this place. In fact, it has been a significant trading port over the centuries.

Both of them greatly affected East African Economy due to their geographical location which is coastal.
