English

Answer:

I would say not.

Explanation:

It's not really that much of a claim because instead of "claiming" something you have just stated that you are going to do something.

I don't know what paper you are writing or what but I can provide some examples of claims.

"In the book 'Animal Farm', some of the themes like the corruption of power, class warfare, and the inflation of ego are really prevalent and influence the story greatly."

You can see here that I stated three topics to talk about later in the paper and I stated the things that I 'claim' affect the story. With this claim, I can then proceed to defend it in the rest of my paper.

Cleft Sentence. 15 POINTS!!!
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

What my father has <em><u>to do is wear a uniform</u></em> and check everyone's identity.

Explanation:

A cleft sentence is a sentence that is restructured in such a way that the parts of the sentences are moved from their original positions for more emphasis. In this type of sentence, the emphasis is made to make it clearer to the listener.

In the given original sentence, the structure is <em>"my father has to wear a uniform and check everyone's identity."</em> And in making it into a cleft sentence with the "wh-" construction, we can write the sentence as

What my father has <em><u>to do is wear a uniform</u></em> and check everyone's identity.

Write a four-line stanza of your own that would go well with music. After you write the stanza, answer these questions:
vovangra [49]

I've been meaning to <em>ask you</em>

If that's not too <em>drastical</em>

wonder if it's <em>okay</em>

To pick you up by<em> eight</em>

The rhyme scheme of this poem is AABB. The rhyme in this poem is achieved by the pronounciation and stress put into "ask you"; stressing ASK and then stressing the first syllabe of "drastical" and this way the rhyme on the first two lines is completed. Then for the last two lines the rhyme is achieved and the whole stanza resolved by stressing "okAY" and then "Eight".

Meter:

The stanza's meter is trochaic tetrameter (4 trochees, 8 syllables)

<em>I</em><em>'ve</em> <em>been </em>| <em>meaning</em><em> </em>| <em>to</em> | ask you

if that's | not | too | drastical

wonder | if | it's | okay

To pick | you up | by | eight

This rhyme scheme and meter are most used by rap artist for it's impact and flexibility to create a rhyme. The stressed words are the ones that address the receiver of the message that is a proposition for a meeting or a date. This poem is fitting for the rap music genre, for it's pronounciation  of key words (with a suburban accent) completes the rhyme in the second and third lines ("oKAY" and "DRAStical").
