The did anything that they could to gain wealth, including treating the Native American awfully. They claimed that this was God's plan for them.
The White settlers conquered the Native American, enslaved them, mass murdered them, and forced the survivors to live on Reservations. Then, the European settlers continued to follow the Manifest Destiny ( the lie that it was God's plan for then to conquer all of America).
Then, the settler decided that they could make their lives easier by taking people from Africa and enslaving them. This was another method that they used to gain more land. SInce they had the slaves doing all of their work for them, they were able to make plans to move west and settle all of America.
