To smash a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over a net into the opponent's court, each player uses a strung racquet. The modern game of tennis was born in the late 19th century in the United Kingdom. "It was called "lawn tennis" then. Tennis soon became popular among the English-speaking population of the upper class. Then it started to be played around the world.
