Mood: Disappointment

Diction that creates the mood: "...tried to wipe away worry. But she couldn't"

Explanation:

According to the poem from Long Way Down, it is narrated that Dani was disappointed and tried to wipe away her worry but was unable to.

From these lines, it's clear that Dani was expectant of something which was yet to happen and as such she becomes disappointed and tries not to worry but us unable to.
