The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Shirley Jackson is the author of "The Lottery."

The setting of the story is an old United States town, a place where people are farmers and plot the land. From the description of the weather, it appears that it is summertime. It seems to be that the place is a quite normal rural American town with nothing interesting happening there. When the reader realizes that people in that town have common daily conversations such as taxes, tractors, and the harvest, the reader never suspects what horrible things are happening in the town until the end of the story. Nobody can imagine what the stones are for.

nadezda [96]

Answer:

vividly informative and helpful

Explanation:

Instructive refers to something that is vividly informative and helpful to the viewer. The meaning of this word can be determined in this scenario through what the self-portraits provide. They provide a vivid representation of the artist and how he sees himself, therefore enhancing all of the little insecurities or features that they may be very proud of. It also shows the features that the artist wishes to have or how they want to be seen which is extremely helpful in highlighting these features.

vodka [1.7K]

Answer: more like agree and disagree

I still assume that grades measures exactly what a student learns. It usually shows you whether you've got wrong or right when you finish an exam, and it explains why and how. If a teacher or student scores your paperwork and mistakenly labels you wrongly, grades will also be incorrect, even though you deserve a much better score. Plus grades are not that significant, actually. Students should concentrate on studying new subjects and real knowledge, since that is what a student really represents.
