It is the Iris I believe. It controls the diameter and size of the pupil, controlling the amount of light reaching the retina.
Those receptors are located in the head, where the eyes and ears are located.
Some characteristics of living things that a car has is that it can move around, it takes in liquid to break down to use, and it puts out carbon dioxide. The characteristics of living things can be used to show that a car is not living because living things can be broken down by other living things, they also can think for themselves, and can move without something controlling them. (Plants can too, but very slowly.)

Carbon dioxide is also transported away from the cells as a waste gas. Respiration relies on other systems, such as the circulatory system, to transport oxygen and carbon dioxide to and from cells.
