Answer:

Assimilation is a process by which a person, with a cultural background different from that of the majority of the population (for example, immigrants, ethnic or religious minorities, etc.) is gradually incorporated into the majority society through the adoption of cultural manifestations of this. An example of assimilation was the process of cultural assimilation of Native Americans, whereby these individuals gradually adopted the language, beliefs and customs of the whites, abandoning their own cultural identity.

A positive aspect of assimilation is the inclusion of minorities, who become part of the wider society without being discriminated against because of their differences. In turn, a negative aspect of this process is the loss of different unique cultural aspects of minorities (such as indigenous languages, customs, etc.).

Can we consider an activist as a humanitarian?
Degger [83]
It depends what kind of activist we are talking about. If the activist was for human rights, we could possibly consider them as a humanitarian, because the definition for humanitarian is: concerned with or seeking to promote human welfare. This is quite similar to a human rights activist, so I would say yes.
