ussable topic. Like sex, death both fascinates youth and makes their elders reticent. By giving kids, parents, teachers,and librarians characters who demand discussion, writers who employ the dead to tell their stories give us all a chance to begin a difficult conversation" (Goldsmith 3).

Answer: 1) What Goldsmith means, is that Death, is something all humans experience. Our mortality makes death inevitable and inescapable. Making it a somewhat, permanent condition.

2) "Like sex. death both fascinates youth and makes their elders reticent" I agree with this statement.  Youth, are driven by emotions and feeling, making them more fascinated and intrigued by intercourse. They are knew to this aspect of love and life. Elders, may become less amused, and more silent about the topic. Having known it's personal and not something to be shared openly. They keep it to themselves.

Well in this chapter its not one person who is not home. Bilbo gets everyone on an adventure so it the heat of the chapter i guess nobody  is REALLY home.

Answer:

The president took away all Japanese Americans property and sent them to internment camps so they to made clubs and started church groups in hope that they could make the situation better. Even though the conditions were really bad they made the best of their situation.

For "He lived a year in a minute" I think it means that all of a sudden he looks very old, is tired, or maybe time went by really fast? Like I said I am not 100% sure so don't take my word for it. Heck I am not 10% sure, more like I am 5% sure, 20% at the most. Sorry if I am wrong.
