Which selection best supports the central idea that there are good reasons to be awake during the day? You may think it's normal

to be awake during the day and sleep at night, but that's not true for all animals. Humans are diurnal, the scientific term for tending to be up and about during the hours when the sun is up. Being awake in daytime has some obvious advantages: It's warm, it's easy to see, and, at least for humans, sunshine provides much-needed vitamin D and also makes us feel good. But for many animals, being up at night, or being nocturnal, is a great arrangement. Small animals who are in danger from predators can gather food more safely in the dark. And some animals can find their way around by using senses other than sight - bats, for example, use their sense of hearing to navigate. In hot climates, it can also be a good thing to avoid the bright sun and spend the day curled up in a cozy cave or den.

How climate change is the greatest threat facing humanity today?
eduard

Answer: Increase and continued adverse effects.

Explanation:

Climate change is the greatest threat facing humanity today because it has led and is lead to significant effects on the planet. This is very bad because the planet is all we have as humans and should it become uninhabitable, we would have nowhere to go.

Effects include:

 • Increased flooding - As sea levels rise due to the melting of entire masses of ice, there will be more flooding. Weather patterns changing to bring about more rainfall will also contribute to this.
 • Higher temperatures - The world is getting hotter by the year which is why recent years have been the hottest since humanity started keeping records. This trend is only scheduled to rise.
 • Stronger hurricanes - Warmer temperatures have been linked to the intensity and frequency of hurricanes which means that more land and property damage are still to come in future.
 • Droughts and Heat waves - Even though some areas will see a rise in rainfall, others will experience worse droughts and heat waves which will significantly reduce the chances of human survival in those areas.

For these reasons and more, climate change is undoubtedly out greatest threat now and immediate action is needed.

Which pope (of the Roman Catholic Church) condemned the abuses of bad pardoners?
Akimi4 [234]

The pope was Clement V.

A pardoner was a collector of money on behalf of a religious foundation. Another word for a pardoner is questor.

A pardoner worked under the authority of a bishop. He presented himself to a church congregation and made an appeal in aid od some worthy cause approved by the bishop. Many pardoners were actually fraudsters who extorted money for their own use. They falsified the letters from the bishop and begged money from good-willed people who hoped for redemption. The pardoners kept the money and did not give it to any noble cause.

Pip learns that Orlick blames him for getting between him and the woman he loved. He also believes Pip to be responsible for Mrs. Joe's death (as Orlick killed her to get back at him). Finally, Orlick reveals that he is connected to Compeyson and that he has solved the mystery of Magwitch.
