Peter Van Daan’s motivations/ actions?
Stells [14]

Peter Van Daan’s Motivations/ Actions:

Peter Van Daan is one of the character from the novel ‘The Diary of a Young Girl’ by Anne Frank which depicts the story of the young girl Anne Frank and her family who went into hiding for two years. The story illustrates the horrors of war.

Peter is the son of Van Daan and he is shown as a loner who isn’t quite optimistic and who doesn’t trust of have faith in anything. Anne tries to bring the other side of him, but she realizes that Peter has an inferiority complex.

He mostly acts to benefit himself and he don’t really bother to impress anyone. Peter isn’t really a bold or courageous person, neither in words nor in actions.

what does Anaya mean when he writes that “a book at once quenches the thirst of the imagination and ignites new fires?”
trasher [3.6K]

Not too sure, but I take it that the book satisfies his need for imagination temporarily, but also awakens a tier of satisfaction to be met, be it for more imagination or not.

How can an author’a use of setting build tension within a story ?
ollegr [7]

Answer:

Authors can build tension in a story in multiple ways, one of which would be having a character not fit in or be at odds with a setting or by having a character become comfortable in a setting. Another way an author can build tension is by having a character remember a previous setting.
