Nuclear energy doesn't release carbon dioxide or methane responsible of global warming. This doesn't mean that it produdes 0 contaminants, it does but in a lower scale. Another advantage is the amount of energy that is obtained from nuclear fission, it can generate over 10 million times the nergy which is produced by the combustion of fossil fuels.
