Hammurabi's code was complex,and kept a very well kept structural system that we use, even today! He built several jobs, and created a class system, along with taxation. I know, taxes are not the best, but hwo would you get your  favorite clothes, when all is said and done Hammurabi's code shaped today, and how you live now.

As a result, people began to hoard more gold, the strongest asset, its demand increased sharply as well as its prince, and the government could not issue more currency than it had gold.
