The correct answers are The Fifth and Sixth Amendment

Explanation:

Miranda v. Arizona was a legal case in 1966, in this, Ernesto Miranda accused of kidnapping and sexual abuse confessed during the interrogation, which led to a sentence of about 20 years. However, Miranda was never told he could have counsel or guidance of a lawyer, he could remain in silence, or his words would be used against him, which means he was not informed of his rights and the legal procedure was not followed. Due to this, the Supreme Court determined the trial and process had not been legal and a retrial was necessary.

Moreover, this decision was related to the fifth amendment that protects against self-incrimination including the right to not answer questions against oneself; as well as, the sixth amendment that establishes a public, speedy and fair trial should be guaranteed. Thus, this case addressed the fifth and sixth amendments.

Based on the excerpt from the “Iron Curtain Speech,” what was Winston Churchill’s point of view concerning the Soviet Union in 1
Komok [63]

Answer:

Winston Churchill was cautious with the Soviet Union. He acknowledged the enormous help that the Soviet Union had provided in defeating the Nazis, without which it would have been impossible to do so, and also thought that after such a brutal war, in which more than 20 million soviet citizens died, the thing that the Soviet Union desired the least was a new one.

However, he felt that the Soviet Union wanted to use the fruits of the war for its geopolitical advantage, by taking control of the occupied territories in Eastern Union. This is why Churchill said that an Iron Curtain was falling over Europe, that would divide the continent in years to come, in a capitalist-oriented Western Europe, allied with the U.S., and a socialist-oriented Eastern Europe, under the control of the Soviet Union.

The name texas is derived from a caddo indian name meaning what?
laila [671]

Answer:

Texas derived its name from a Caddo word from which means friend.

Explanation:

The word is "teyshas" and while it means friends, it also can mean allies.

Spanish explorers recorded it as Teyas or Tejas in the 1540s, believing that it was a tribal name. Later, it was applied to areas north of the Rio Grande and east of New Mexico.

The state's motto, "friendship," still reflects that heritage.
