So here you're using system of equations. You can solve systems by graphing, elimination, or substitution. Ill use substitution. First lets solve for x. take the second equation and add y to both sides to get x by itself:
x - y = 75
x = y + 75 now plug y+75 in for x in the first equation
x + y = 743
(y +75) +y = 743 solve for y
2y +75 = 743 subtract 75
2y = 668 divide both sides by 2
y = 334
now plug this into any of the 2 equations to solve for x i chose the second one
x - y = 75
x - 334 = 75  add 334 to both sides
x = 409
This means x, sold before the tournament is 409 and y, sold at the door is 334. That means the assistant is wrong and accidentally flipped the two answers

Find the surface area of a cylinder that has a raius of 13.5 cm., and a height of 90 cm. Show all work without using a calculato
professor190 [17]

\bf \textit{surface area of a cylinder}\\\\ SA=2\pi r(h+r)~~ \begin{cases} r=radius\\ h=height\\[-0.5em] \hrulefill\\ r=13.5\\ h=90 \end{cases}\implies SA=2\pi (13.5)(90+13.5) \\\\\\ SA=27\pi (103.5)\implies SA=2794.5\pi \implies SA\approx 8779.18

well, the last part will be with a calculator, but you can simply use the area in π terms.

What is the answer? And show how you got it .
Lubov Fominskaja [6]
First, let's find out how much the 6 boxes weigh. If one box of clay weighs 17.4 ounces, then how much does 6 boxes weigh? Well, let's multiply.

                                17.4 × 6 = 104.4

Next, let's find out how much clay each student get. Since there are 18 students and only 6 boxes, let's find this out by dividing the ounces.

                                      104.4 ÷ 18 = 5.8

So, each student gets 5.8 ounces of clay. I hope this helps!

A box contains 5 purple marbles, 3 green marbles, and 2 orange marbles. Two consecutive draws are made from the box without plac
lana66690 [7]
There are 2 orange marbles, 3 green marbles, & 5 purple marbles

two consecutives draws <em>without</em> replacement

Orange first, green second

Orange/total = 2/10, or 1/5
green/total - 1 = 3/9, or 1/3
1/5(1/3) = 1/15
There is a 1/15 chance of <em>Orange first, green second</em>

Both marbles are purple
Purple/total = 5/10, or 1/2
Purple/total = 4/9, or <em>44% chance of both being purple</em>

first is purple, the next is anything but purple
purple/total = 1/2, or 50% chance
(everything - purple)/total = 5/10, or 50% chance
1/2(1/2) = 1/4, or 25% chance of <em>first purple, then anything but purple</em>

hope this helps

What is the slope between each pair of points. (-5,-2) and (9,2)
zzz [600]

Answer: 2/7

Step-by-step explanation:

You subtract the y intercepts and put it over the x intercepts

2-(-2)=4 and 9-(-5)=14 so it is 4/14 which sinplifies to 2/7
