A noun phrase is composed of a noun and its modifier. Modifiers are used in order to distinguish the noun from other things. It can be place before or after the noun. These come in the form of adjectives, possessive nouns or pronouns, articles, or participles. For the question, a given sentence was revised and among the choices, the r<span>evision that uses a noun phrase and maintains the meaning of the original sentences is number 1: "</span><span>Kind, cheerful Dorothea is always helpful, too." Dorothea is the subject of the sentence and you can notice that before it are adjectives - kind, cheerful, which serve as the modifiers. Thus, the noun phrase in the sentence is kind, cheerful Dorothea. You may also notice that the other options do not have a modifier for the noun. </span>
