Racism and sexism came hand and hand but if anything classism seems like the first where royalty or nobility would look down on people with lower social status like peasants.
Immigrants were drawn to Cities in the Northeast and Midwest because there was Housing and Job Opportunities.<span />
Machines made it easier to complete hard tasks(such as the cotton gin) and they also could get work done faster than humans, which lead to a much grander scale of production in goods. Hope this helps :D
They were colonies of great Britain
Great Britain had taken over the areas and declared them to be British spheres of interests following the decline of the Ottoman empire. Egypt specifically was of prime significance to Britain as it was the new route to India and the colonies in the Eastern coast of Africa.
