Proteins are macromolecules that are important in the development and repair of bones and tissues. Since good sources of proteins are made up of essential amino acids, they contribute greatly to the well being of children based on the roles of these essential amino acids.

When children do not have this protein there diet, they could have stunted growth and weak bones (due to absence of protein for bone and tissue development), fatigue (absence of protein for development of muscle thus not enough glycogen is stored in the muscle cells),  slowed/stunted growth (absence of proteins for the development of bones and tissues) and this children also have reduced immunity because of the absence of proteins which releases amino acid for immune/antibody formation.
