We can do this the long way or the short way...you need to know the long way to be able to recognize and use the short cuts..

(x - 3)(x + 3) (use distributive property or FOIL)
x(x) + x(3) - 3(x) - 3(3)
x² + 3x - 3x - 9 (combine like terms)
x² - 9

IN the future, when you have a polynomial like this and you have the +3, -3...they will always subtract to be 0, so we just multiply the first terms and the last terms to get the answer.

Round 10.95 to the nearest tenth
Serhud [2]

Hi there! To round 10.95 to the nearest tenth, we find the number in the tenth place, which is 9 and look one place to the right. Round up if the number is greater than 5 or equal to 5 and round down if its less than 5.

The answer is 11.0 or just 11.

Ed: Explanation below.

11.00

10.99

10.98

10.97

10.96

10.95 Look at the 9. Then look to the right. Do I round up or down?

10.94

10.93

10.92

10.91

10.90

If the number is greater or equal to 5, you round up. If the number is smaller than 5, you round down. 9 is greater than 5, so we round up.

Therefore, the answer is 11.

Pick the description of a geometric object that best matches the real-world object:

tent
Elodia [21]

Answer:

Triangular Prism

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the object 'Tent' and are required to find a 3D object resembling it.

Since, the object represents a tent. So, it must have two similar and parallel bases with parallelograms as sides.

Therefore, we get that the 3D object that resembles a tent is a 'Triangular Prism'.

A triangular prism has two similar triangular bases and three rectangular sides as shown in the figure below.

Hence, 'Triangular Prism' is the answer.
