If someone can answer this correctly i will do something but i dont know what
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

The Giver ends with Jonas’s rejection of his community’s ideal of Sameness. He decides to rescue Gabriel and escape the community, and they grow steadily weaker as they travel through an unfamiliar wintery landscape. At the top of a hill, Jonas finds a sled and rides it down toward a community with lit windows and music. Lowry does not confirm whether the two survive, because the reader can either interpret the sled as a hallucination of Jonas’s dying mind, or as a fortunate coincidence. Upon first seeing the top of the hill, Jonas believes that he remembers the place, and it is “a memory of his own,” as opposed to one from the Giver. Because Jonas doesn’t have his own memories of snow, the meaning of this sentence is not obvious. This confusion could signify Jonas’s deterioration. However, Jonas may also recognize that the hill and sled signify the presence of a community that allows for sleds and snow. Jonas calls his destination “Elsewhere,” an ambiguous term because the community uses it both to refer to places outside the community and the destination of people who have been “released,” or euthanized. Additionally, the reader cannot take the lights Jonas sees in the windows at face value. Light symbolizes hope, but people also often talk about seeing light right before death.

Predict how you feel time, place, weather, and colors will play a key role in setting the Dystopian tone in 1984.
goldenfox [79]
A dystopia is a world where everything is bad. As a result, the place would be described in negative terms.

For example, dystopian weather would be murky, bleak, foggy, or rainy; the colors used will be similar: dark blue, gray, black, etc. would all be colors used in a dystopian world.

Which sentence correctly uses commas to separate a nonrestrictive modifier?
KengaRu [80]

Answer:

My friend John, who owns the chocolate Lab puppy, is getting ready to leave for a trip.

Explanation:

"Nonrestrictive modifiers" are <em>words or phrases that follows a noun.</em> It is separated by commas since it presents an information that is not essential to the meaning of the sentence as a whole.

Among the choices above, the choice <em>"My friend John, who owns the chocolate Lab puppy, is getting ready to leave for a trip" </em>uses the commas correctly in order to separate its non restrictive modifier.

The non restrictive modifier in the sentence is "who owns the chocolate Lab puppy." This modifies "My friend John." However, it is not an essential information in order to determine the meaning of the whole sentence since the sentence already mentioned the named John.
