Answer:

The main idea of the text is to show the origin of the ban on child labor.

Explanation:

The article aims to show the origin of child labor prohibition laws in the USA. This is because the drafting of these laws allowed children to be free from abusive work, which prohibited them from living a normal childhood, having quality education and being protected from abusive situations and accidents, since children do not have the mental capacity that a adult owns.

Express your opinion in 4 sentences Do you think you learn more from success or from failure
Gala2k [10]

Answer:

in my opinion, failure helps you learn more than success. Success gives you limits, like you only know what to do, but you dont know what not to do. Failure teaches you what not to do for present and future mistakes. Say like if you lost a spelling bee, you would learn to study more and not waist time playing. That failure taught you what not to do, and what to do. Also, another example, if a kid is going down a slide upside down, they would fall off the slide and hit their heads on the ground, they would learn not to do that anymore and to sit up correctly.

What does the jar in Wallace Stevens's "The Anecdote of the jar" most likely symbolize
gavmur [86]
The jar in Wallace Stevens's "The Anecdote of the Jar" most likely symbolizes human order and the drive to arrange things according to a pattern. It is there to say that nature cannot be controlled by humans - no matter how hard the narrator tries, he cannot fit the whole of Tennessee into the jar, the same way a man cannot dominate over nature.

Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass- How does Frederick Douglass dismantle the master’s house using the master’s tools?
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

By learning how to read and write

Explanation:

One way that Frederick Douglass dismantles his master’s house was through learning how to read and write. Even though this is an expression and he did not physically dismantle his master’s house, Frederick Douglass “dismantled” it because since he knew how to read and write, he had new ideas and was more aware of what was happening around the world. He found out what he can actually do with that new ability and he tried to break free from his master’s control and captivity. He used learning to read and write to his advantage. He read so many books and learned many new things, and he even shared it to his fellow slaves that could not read or write so they could be aware of what Fredrick Douglass learned and that brought up new ideas. Since they had new ideas that have been learned from learning how to read and write, they started in a way rebelling more and questioning why they were like that while in other parts people were not like this. In the future that caused a couple fights and rebellion and they ended up “dismantling the master’s house” because they ended up getting their freedom and they were not in captivity anymore.

Which statement best explains why writers of persuasive essays usually write in third-person voice?
Tomtit [17]

Answer:

They want readers to see their essays as detached and fair and not as personal, biased opinion.

Explanation:

If you use I, me, you in essays it makes it sound informal and like it is all opinion. You want the readers to believe it is all fact and fair.
