Early in the Revolutionary War, Washington sent one of his officers to requisition horses from the local landowners. Calling at an old country mansion, the officer was received by the elderly mistress of the house. "Madam, I have come to claim your horses in the name of the government," he began. "On whose orders?" demanded the woman sternly. "On the orders of General George Washington, commander in chief of the American army," replied the officer. The old lady smiled. Read this paragraph from a rhetorical text that argues that hate speech should be regulated.
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

The writer would like the audience to take action against catcallers and racists.

Explanation:

From the article excerpts, the writer believes that, nothing is done for people (women) who are catcalled or others that are racially disparaged when it is compared to soldiers' families, shoppers and workers in similar situation.

To her, it is uncalled for that, same action that would be considered a harm and crime when directed to shoppers for example is largely ignored when directed to a woman walking down the street. She is only demanding that, actions should be taken to address the disparity.

Choose the answer that best matches the word in italics.
alina1380 [7]

Answer: C. inner organs

Explanation:

Entrails usually refer to exposed inner organs and intestines of an animal and in this case is the best match for the word.

Cats are a natural predator for moles but have been known to discard certain parts of the mole's insides such as the bladder. Mrs. Whitney's cat most probably kept killing moles and then discarding the inner organs it did not eat on her front step.
