Answer:

I think it is A

Explanation:

She is not feeling detached from anything in this paragraph, nor is she empathizing with anything. I don't know how it is making us more comfortable, though. When you are discussing your own life, you are showing people what you were feeling and describing things better because they happened to you. Having the most information is crucial to understanding the story. (again don't fully trust me on this bc I am guessing.)

1. The poet begins with a prayer to the Muses - the Greek Goddess - the nine daughters of Zeus who gave inspiration for various works of art such as music, poetry, and other forms of cerebral creativity. He makes the prayer because he thirsts for greatness again and longs to go home from the prison of the island of Ogygia where he was kept, prisoner.

He and his men after an unsuccessful siege against Troy that lasted ten years used a Trojan Horse filled with soldiers as a gift to the king of Troy to penetrate their defenses.

Who is "that man" mentioned in line 2 of the poem

2. "The man" referred to in line two is the narrator or the writer himself - Odysseus - King of Ithaca, son of Laertes and Anticleia.

3. The poet of course values determination, bravery, and loyalty. (Option A).

See the following lines where he describes his achievements:

 • Determination (Line 6 and 7) ...and weathered many bitter nights and days in his deep heart at sea

 • Bravery and loyalty (Line 8) while he fought ... to bring his shipmates home.

4. What the poet does not value

The plot does not value recklessness. See line 11.

There he states that he would have saved his men but for their recklessness in killing and feasting on the cattle of Lord Helios.

5. The literary device used here is Imagery.

The emboldened section is lines 11-15:

...their own recklessness destroyed them all –

children and fools, they killed and feasted on

the cattle of Lord Helios, the Sun,

and he who moves all day through heaven

took from their eyes the dawn of their return.

What is imagery?

Imagery refers to the use of figurative language to enhance description and create a notable impression in the mind of the reader.

By saying that Lord Helios - the sun took from their eyes the dawn of their return, he simply says they died in the hands of Lord Helios thus losing all hopes of getting back to their homeland.

6. The poets' tone can best be described as Moody.

Having been detained for seven years on the island, he was homesick and now prayed to the gods to release him. Hence his moody tone.

7. It is easy to predict that the gods will release Odysseus to go back home.

In line 17, Odysseus prays to be allowed to be released and allowed to work brave deeds again. It is easily predictable that he would be released to go home to Ithaca.

How would you change “to drive to the grocery store” to make it parallel with “reading my mom’s list of instructions”? by removi
alexgriva [62]
The correct answer is B. by changing "to drive" to "driving." In order for a construction to be parallel to another one, they have to have the same form. So, if one part of a construction is using the gerund form (reading my mom's list of instructions), then the other part has to end in -ing as well in order for them to be parallel. So, if you change the infinitive "to drive" to the gerund form "driving," you will create parallel constructions.

To evaluate how the story relates to history, read this article on Nero. How did your vision of Nero in the story compare to Ner
postnew [5]
Both the story and the article present Nero as a bad person, but the emphasis, tone, and purpose of the two texts are very different. The story's purpose is to entertain, and its viewpoint of the events is somewhat detached. It clearly shows Nero's monster like nature, but it focuses on his egotism and coarseness. It does not include a detailed judgment of Nero's character. The article, on the other hand, focuses on Nero's character, which it strongly criticizes.
