The answer is Leon Trotsky. He was born in Ukraine to rich Jewish farmers. On his last year in school, he was fascinated with Marxism and became a revolutionary. His power struggle against Joseph Stalin led to his banishment from the Soviet Union. He lived in Turkey, France, Norway and finally Mexico where he was assassinated by an agent of the Soviet Union's secret police.
As the Civil War drew to a close the primary issue on the mind of the North was how to reintegrate the South back into the Union. They settled on the famous 10% plan for this. Regarding the fate of the ex-slaves, the North instituted Reconstruction, which sought to make sure that the freed blacks would be integrated into Society fairly. This largely failed, however.
Communism
Because US and Soviet Union wanted world dominance or a capitalist world (US) or a communist world (Soviet Union).
The Cold War began shortly after World War II, as the United States and the Soviet Union contested political, economic and military hegemony in the world. A direct armed conflict would mean the end of both countries and, probably, of life on planet Earth.
This could have been avoided if no country wanted to rule the world.
The bombardment of Fort Sumter
'A' is correct, with no qualifications.
'B' is correct, although the concept of "wandering" is far off base.
'C' is not true at all.
'D' is very weak, mostly on account of the nebulous concept of "worship".
There WAS no temple in Jerusalem, but there was plenty of worship, from
the time of the Exodus until the reign of Solomon. And then, although offerings
and "sacrifices" were brought to the Temple, and the entire population pilgrimaged
to the Temple on three occasions during the year, it's misleading to imply that no
Hebrew worship took place anywhere else.
