Based on the Decree Against Profiteers, do you think the Committee of Public Safety protected the Revolution from its enemies?
algol [13]
My answer would be yes, the Committee of Public Safety protected the Revolution from its enemies. It enabled to put country under threat of death penalty to work together. How beneficial was Committee of Public Safety to the revolution was already debated in 1790's; however, it is necessary to say that it was a collective dictatorship in the time of need when country faced civil wars, external invasion, and counter-revolution.

What did Eisenhower do with New Deal programs?
Zigmanuir [339]

Eisenhower developed an unstated but evident "no dismantling, no great expansion." approach to the New Deal programs during his Presidency.  He did not not set out to destruct what the other party had done for 20 years.   At the same time he didn't want anything experimental or heavy handed.

This quote sums it up:

“Should any political party attempt to abolish social security unemployment insurance and eliminate labor laws and farm programs you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group of course that believes you can do these things. Among them are a few other Texas oil millionaires and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid.
