As young children it is often easy to believe a lot of things that people tell you (sometimes this is being gullible or just hav

ing an imagination that will allow you to believe what is said). What are a few things that you were told as a young child? Do you still believe these things? Why or why not? Your answer should be AT LEAST five sentences!

Answer:

As a young child I was told that at the end of the rainbow there would be pots of gold. I would try to run over to the end but to no avail as it was miles away. I do not believe this anymore mainly because I have seen various pictures of people at the end of rainbows with no pots of gold. Now that I think of it that was an absurd theory. I don't believe in the tooth fairy either mainly because, they wouldn't have a good reason to hoard teeth as well as how small she is she shouldn't even be able to lift a tooth.

The road to the mountains was a ribbon of moonlight.
aliya0001 [1]

Answer: B) Metaphor

Explanation: A metaphor can be simply defined as a figure of speech that compares actions or words that are not literally related but might share similar characteristics. It gives a hidden meaning or representation.

"The road to the mountains was a ribbon of moonlight",

The "road" and the "ribbons of moonlight" are literally unrelated because roads are neither ribbons nor ribbons of moonlight.

"Ribbons of moonlight" is only meant to give a hidden meaning or representation of the characteristic or nature of the road to the mountains.

So "Ribbons of moonlight" is a metaphor.
