Answer:

Proslavery settlers who came to Kansas from Missouri in the 1800s were known as  Border Ruffians.

Explanation:

The Border Ruffians were a private army raised by the big slave owners of Missouri, involved in the bloody events of Bleeding Kansas, during a political race between abolitionists and slavers to determine whether Kansas, created in 1861 as a state, with two representatives in the Senate, would be a slave state or not.

Missouri slave owners actively campaigned for the United States to remain a slave country. They created political groups called the Border Ruffians, that crossed the west bank of Missouri to the neighboring lands of the Kansas Territory, where they were engaged in the armed struggle against abolitionists like John Brown.  In March 1855, the Missouri Border Ruffians invaded Kansas during the territory's first election and imposed a pro-slavery legislature.

Ruomei's new liking for biology has been conditioned.
She was 'conditioned,' aka learned to love biology because of the guy she has a crush on. Previously, she wasn't interested in biology, but when she started liking this guy, she somehow connected her attraction to him to her growing love for biology. Thus, the guy was her stimulus to become conditioned to love biology.

The fact that mothers in Japan feed their babies freeze-dried sardines and rice and most mothers in the United States would not
Ghella [55]

Answer:

culture

Explanation:

Culture goes a long way to influence what consumers want and buy. In other words culture is a major determinant of what businesses and industries might actually prosper in an economy. From the above, freeze-dried sardine is preferred by Japanese mothers and so there is a large market for freeze-dried sardine in Japan. However this would not obtain in the American market as consumers for this product are already slashed by American mothers who don't like it.
