What is the most accurate statement about correlations? a. Apparent correlations between two or more variables can stimulate inv
Lemur [1.5K]

Answer:

a. Apparent correlations between two or more variables can stimulate investigation and present possible solutions to be explored.

Step-by-step explanation:

Correlation is a scenario, where an action X causes another action Y to occur, but one of the actions does not really need to affect the other's occurrence. Correlation occurs because of the tendency of people to seek the relationship between events. The fact that two events are happening at the same time does not necessarily imply a cause and effect relationship, although there might be a possibility of such.

Correlation is used in scientific studies to draw the relationship between two events, but it does not stop at that. Through investigation has to be made to confirm that there is indeed a correlation.

NO LINKS!! Please help me with this problem
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

Information : The given hyperbola is a horizontal hylerbola with its centre (3 , -5) and one of its focus at (9 , -5) and vertex at (7 , -5) and as we can see that the focus and vertex have same y - coordinates, it must have its Transverse axis on line y = - 5.

Now,

it's vertex is given, I.e (7 , -5)

so, length of semi transverse axis will be equal to distance of vertex from centre, i.e

  • a = 7 - 3 = 4 units

Now, it's focus can be represented as ;

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: (3 + ae,  - 5 )

so,

  • ae + 3 = 9

and we know, a = 4

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: 4e + 3 = 9

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: 4e = 6

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: e =  \cfrac{3}{2}

Now, let's find the measure of semi - conjugate axis (b)

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  {b}^{2}  =  {a}^{2} ( {e}^{2}  - 1)

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  {b}^{2}  = 16( \frac{9}{4}  - 1)

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  {b}^{2}  = 16( \frac{9 - 4}{4}  )

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  {b}^{2}  = 16( \frac{5}{4}  )

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  {b}^{2}  = 20

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: b =   \sqrt{20}

So, it's time to write the equation of hyperbola, as we already have the values of a and b ~

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \cfrac{ {(x - h)}^{2} }{ {a}^{2} }  -  \cfrac{( {y  - k)}^{2} }{ {b}^{2} }  = 1

[ plug in the values, and h = x - coordinate of centre, and k = y - coordinate of centre ]

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \:  \cfrac{ ({x-3)}^{2} }{ {16}^{} }  -  \dfrac{ {(y+5)}^{2} }{ { {20} }^{} }  = 1

In 2-3 sentences describe why the only way an infinite geometric series has a sum is if |r| < 1.
Paul [167]
Because if the common ratio less than 1, then each term is smaller than the previous term. eventually, it will be so small that it basically equals 0 and the next terms are nigligible

it's like this. say you are on one side of a playground
you walk half the distance across,
you then walk half of the disatnce you just walked
you then walk half of the disatnce you just walked
etc
you will never reach the other side because each distance you take is smaller thatn the previous, eventaull the distance will be so small you won't be moving much

Wewaii [24]

Answer:1. = 4x+8

2. 2a²-a+1

Step-by-step explanation:

1. ((x+2)+3x+6.  2. 2a(a-1)-a+1

((x+2)+3x+6

= x+2+3x+6

= 4x+8

2a(a-1)-a+1

2a²-2a-a+1
