Answer:
C) People are more productive when they enjoy their work.
The sentence that uses the verbs correctly is D, since "the Land of the Horses" is the title of the novel (singular), thus the verb following adds a final -s.
A is wrong because of the same reason. "Four dogs and a Girl" is the title of the novel, so it should be followed by has instead of have.
B is wrong because War and Peace is just one novel. Therefore it should be followed by is rather than are.
C is wrong because, again, Lost Cities is the title of the novel, thus singular and should be followed by describes.
Answer: E. The insane live in a reality of their own
Explanation: The theme which is conveyed in this excerpt from "The tell-tale heart" by Edgar Allan Poe is the insane live in a reality of their own. Short Essay on Save Water and Electricity – Essay 1 (350 words)
Introduction
Without water there is no life. Even desert dwelling fauna and flora need some measure of water to survive and thrive. Yet, most of us don’t think twice about leaving water running from a tap or polluting the rapidly diminishing sources of fresh water. This ignorance and inaction has resulted in a growing crisis – the possibility that we will run out of drinkable water in the near future.
The situation is slightly different when it comes to electricity. Electricity is a modern discovery but in just over a century it has become a mainstay in our existence. We use electricity for pretty much everything – from lighting up our homes to running machinery and even helping us come up with new technological innovations. However, the sources that provide us energy are non-renewable resources such as natural gas and coal. Sooner or later, we are going to run out of them.
Why we should Save Water and Electricity
There are plenty of reasons to save both water and electricity and some of them are very similar. First of all, from the individual’s point of view, saving these two resources means saving money. It’s simple – when you save water, your water bill isn’t high and the same principle works for electricity.Second, conserving both is good for the environment. Less use of energy means that fewer fossil fuels are burnt and less pollution from that burning is released into the atmosphere. Conserving water ensures that we don’t deplete our sources of fresh water; more importantly, we don’t pollute water with pesticides and harmful chemicals that leave fresh water undrinkable and harm ecosystems that rely on that water.
