Casey’s persuasive speech contained the following statement:The decline in the U.S. bat population has reached critical proporti
guajiro [1.7K]

Answer:

need

Explanation:

Question of policy is basically a question whether or not an actions should be performed in order to change the existing conditions.

In analyzing the question of policy there are three issues:

1) need - determining is there a serious problem and is there a need for solving it

2) plan - if such a problem exists what is the plan (course of action) for solving it

3) practicality - if the plan is accepted, will it soove the problem or will it just make it worse and open some new issues

Casey's speech contains pointing out the problem and providing the evidence to support the claim. The speech doesn't suggest any plan nor further analysis, rather it just states the problem which can affect both, the crops and people.

An Easy One: (American Movies/ Books)
nata0808 [166]

Answer:

Explanation:

A Walk to Remember.

Being a cancer patient myself, I understand how both might experience what they did. She was angry with him because he reminded her that she may not see graduation let alone marriage.

He lacked a lot of understanding in the beginning until she tamed him. He couldn't possibly understand, even at 18, what her problem was. Was it God? Was it what was left unfinished? Was it how he cleverly manipulated her deepest wishes -- like being in two places at once. Slowly she began to see that he was adapting to a philosophy of "Not me but thee." Like marriage. She looked the part of an emaciated cancer patient especially in the hospital.

The scene that is particularly heartbreaking for me was the scene between Landon and his father. I am a parent and I know how it feels to be dressed down by your kid especially when that kid is right. The father must have felt Landon's helplessness. So he did something about it. It is not unrealistic; it is just what fathers do.

It is a not to miss movie or book. Any well stocked library has a copy of one or the other or both.

How does the conflict at the beginning of the paragraph move the plot forward?
iogann1982 [59]

Answer:

The narrator realizes that the god was a man.

Explanation:

The paragraph you were given is the following:

At first I was afraid to approach him—then the fear left me. He was sitting looking out over the city—he was dressed in the clothes of the gods. His age was neither young nor old—I could not tell his age. But there was wisdom in his face and great sadness. You could see that he would have not run away. He had sat at his window, watching his city die—then he himself had died. But it is better to lose one's life than one's spirit—and you could see from the face that his spirit had not been lost. I knew, that, if I touched him, he would fall into dust—and yet, there was something unconquered in the face.

The correct option is the third one. Initially, he was afraid to approach, but then the fear left him and he decided to continue observing the god, who turned out to be a man and died along with his city. There is nothing telling us that the narrator is feeling as powerful as a god, or that he distrusts the spirits. The only mention of a spirit is the person's spirit, the one that must not be lost.
