Children develop emotional and social benefits from participating in sports. Children experience character and leadership development through peer relations leading to an increase in self-esteem and a decrease in anxiety levels.Children will get opportunities to experience positive and negative emotions throughout their practice and games trials. It is important for the coach to understand the “psychology of youth sports and physical activity participation” .

When kids are participating in a sport it gives them great social interaction. This slows them to be successful in the future with making friends. When a child plays a sport it also teaches them to multi task because usually a child has to keep up with school if you want to play in a game. This also shows kids discipline and consistency in their life.
