Germany had to pay many reparations after ww1 leading to Germany going into a depression. Germany also lost land. With the embarrassment and failure of their government the people wanted change. The people were unemployed and need hope. The nazi party fed propaganda to these people and told them if they were running thing it would be different.

1919 and 1920 were among the most severe government restrictions on personal rights. Occasionally, some government officials have taken illegal actions against employees, immigrants and others.
